While working in the Aurora, Colorado area, I discovered the Star K Ranch open space park. The name “Star K” comes from what the property used to be called, the “Stark Ranch”, owned by the Stark family. In fact the old family ranch house how houses the Morrison Nature Center.
The park provides a curated open space with maintained trails and interpretive displays that offer a quiet respite from the hectic life that exists just outside its boundaries.
While there over the span of several weeks, I regularly walked one of the well-maintained trails and took the occasion to photograph a wetland area from the same vantage point, both at the end of summer and then, after the onset of fall/winter.
The photo shows the beautiful and striking contrast that comes about as Colorado seasons change.
